1. How long has your practice been open in Chelmsford and why did you choose to open your practice here?
I opened my practice "cold" i.e. on my own without any patient base in 1970. I grew up in Arlington Massachusetts and really didn't know much about any of the towns "up north" My brother had married and moved to Chelmsford so I knew of the town. After researching several other possible towns, Chelmsford was recommended to me by various other Optometrists and optical people as it was growing and attracting professional people. A good friend of mine who had recently opened a practice in Billerica brought me to Parlmont Plaza where I opened my office upstairs over Louie Thamer's drugsore next to the post office and I haven't looked back from that time on.

3. What positive experiences have you had in the community in Chelmsford?
I have been involved with developing and implementing a town wide pre school vision screening clinic with the Chelmsford Women Of Today that we ran for a number of years until the state funded their own program. I was also on the original steering committee that worked towards relocating the senior center to its present location and I have served on the Chelmsford Scholarship Commmittee.
4. Describe the atmosphere of your practice what would you say or advice would you have for first time patients?
We practice in a professionally relaxed atmosphere. Our Doctors of Optometry practice to the maximum extent of licensure and our staff are fully trained to assist our patients with whatever is needed. All this is done in a professional but relaxed atmosphere as we all enjoy working with people.
5. What is the best piece of advice you could give to people for taking care of their eyes?
Take care of your body and your eyes will generally be fine. We are a generally healthy population and the prevalence of eye disease is relatively low. See your eye care professional on whatever schedule is recommended and you should be ok.
