GriefShare: Surviving the Holidays

On Wednesday, November 4, Aldersgate United Methodist Church invites you to a special session of GriefShare called “Surviving the Holidays.” The Thanksgiving and Christmas seasons can be bleak for those who have lost loved ones, and this program offers coping tools and support for anyone who is grieving.

The special session includes a video, a workbook, and optional sharing time. Topics for discussion can include managing emotional triggers; handling changes to family traditions and dealing with the “empty chair”; setting healthy boundaries, communicating expectations, and giving yourself permission to decline social events; and finding meaningful ways to honor the memory of a loved one.

The session will meet at the church from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. There is a $10 charge to cover the cost of the workbook.
