Camp Middlesex in Ashby Receives Safety First Award For 9th Year In A Row
Safety is a High Priority at 4-H Camp Middlesex
As a result of Camp Middlesex’s continued commitment to safety for our campers, Markel Insurance Company announced that 4-H Camp Middlesex has received the Safety First Award for our 2014 camping season. Markel Insurance Company is a large, nationwide summer camp insurer, and only a handful of camps in the nation win this award nine years in a row.
Michael Swain, Senior Loss Control Specialist for Markel Specialty, stated, “Camps and clubs must meet stringent criteria to qualify for the Safety 1st designation. They must have a proven safety record, undergo formal assessments and inspections, and participate in continuing education and certification programs. These Camps deserve to be recognized for keeping safety a top priority.”
