Chelmsford Boy Injured in Fireworks Mishap Will Lose Four Fingers

A Chelmsford boy injured in a Rye, N.H. fireworks accident will lose all but one pinky finger on his injured hand, according to seacostonline.com.
The boy was injured after he and three friends placed a number of sparklers in a glass bottle and lit them on fire, officials said. The mixture created an explosion, officials said.
The boy was taken from the beach to Massachusetts General Hospital, according to the Seacost News. There, doctors said he will lose all but his pinky finger on his injured hand. He also reportedly sustained stomach and leg injuries.

The other three boys involved in the incident were taken to an area hospital, were treated and released. Police said all four boys were all between the ages of 12 and 14.
