A 45-year-old Chelmsford man has died after a car crash last night (Thursday) at 11:25 p.m. on Grandview Road near Locke Road, Chelmsford Police said upon arriving at the scene, they found a 2009 Volvo S-80, with a lone operator, hit a large tree head-on. Police said the operator suffered from extensive injuries, and was treated by police, fire and ambulance personnel at the scene, before being transported to <a href="http://lowellgeneral.org" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Lowell General Hospital. </a> Police said the operator was later transferred to <a href="http://bethisrael.org" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Beth Israel Hospital</a> in Boston where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. Police said the crash is still under investigation and the identity of the male will not be released until next of kin are notified.
