Chelmsford Police Receive Bulletproof Vest Grant Award
Grant will allow department to purchase 12 bulletproof vests.
The Chelmsford Police Department has awarded a $4,652.69 grant from the United States Department of Justice for the purchase of 12 bulletproof vests. The announcement came Wednesday afternoon.
The town of Chelmsford is included in this $18.6M bulletproof vest grant program providing 51,910 bulletproof vests for 4,200 police jurisdictions across the country.
Neighboring communities such as Billerica, Dracut, Tewksbury, Westford, and Tyngsborough also received grant awards under this program.
