Table of Plenty Serves its 5,000th Meal
Volunteer Organization serves 5,000th meal Tuesday night.
The Table of Plenty of Chelmsford served it’s 5,000th meal at the First Parish Unitarian Church Tuesday night. The volunteers of this non-profit organization serve a meal once a week since May 2010 to help ease hunger and social isolation for families and individuals. Stop & Shop sponsored the meal.

Table of Plenty, which is led by Maureen McKeown of North Chelmsford, modeled its program after the highly successful Concord, MA “Open Table."

That program, in operation for over 20 years, provides nearly 175 meals each week in Concord and Maynard. Table of Plenty’s mission is to provide a delicious and nutricious meal to alleviate hunger and social isolation.
The First Parish Unitarian Universalist Church, 2 Westford Street in Chelmsford provides the use of their facilities for the dinners. Open to all in the area that have a need, the meal is served on Tuesday evenings, year round.

This program is organized and operated entirely by volunteers. We have received great support from the business community, faith community and individuals in Chelmsford and surrounding towns.
