Dolan Lands Two Endorsements in Race for Third
Concord Democrat Mara Dolan, a candidate for the opening 3rd Middlesex State Senate seat, announced endorsements from state Rep. Tom Conroy and U.S. Rep. Mike Capuano.

In the race for the open 3rd Middlesex State Senate seat, is getting a little help from her friends.
One of three Concordian candidates for the seat, opening upon the retirement of Susan Fargo, D-Lincoln, Dolan this week picked up endorsements from two lawmakers from the region.
The first, announced May 14, came from state Rep. Tom Conroy, D-Wayland. In a press release, Conroy calls Dolan a friend and said he hopes to serve together with her in the legislature.

"We need more elected officials in Massachusetts like Mara Dolan,” Conroy said in a statement. "She is committed to good government, and has a sense of the right priorities — Democratic priorities — including job creation, affordable and high quality health care for all, and first-class public school education based on great teachers. Her life experience sets her apart from the field. She has demonstrated strength of character, resilience, resourcefulness, and determination charting a career path and overcoming challenges.”
Although his hometown of Wayland does not fall within the 3rd Middlesex, it does include Lincoln and parts of Sudbury, towns Conroy also represents.

The second endorsement Dolan’s team announced this week came from seven-term U.S. Rep. Mike Capuano, a Democrat from Somerville.
"Mara is a hardworking, dedicated and passionate advocate for the causes she believes in,” Capuano said in an announcement. “Mara has long been active in her community and I know she will work tirelessly to advance the issues that are important to the residents of the 3rd Middlesex district. It is my pleasure to endorse her candidacy.”
An attorney, Dolan is co-chair of the Policy Committee of the Massachusetts Democratic State Committee and co-chair of the Concord Democratic Town Committee.
She is one of seven candidates – including five democrats – seeking the 3rd Middlesex seat long held by . And she’s not the only candidate making news in recent weeks.
, held his official campaign kickoff Saturday, May 12, at the home of . And last week, Alex Buck of Chelmsford announced he had qualified to be on the Democratic primary ballot.
