Grand Opening of Rejuvenated Town Center Retail Area

Chelmsford Town Center's retail center will be the spot for a Grand Opening celebration Tuesday morning, complete with ribbon cutting and time capsule dedicating.

The events will take place at 11 a.m. at 18 Boston Road.

The $4.5 million retail center reconstruction at the former Stop & Shop/Marshall's plaza now includes ChoiceFitness, Loch Ness Playcenter, NOBO Restaurant and Bar, Dunkin’ Donuts, A’Gaci Nails and Spa, Pita Greek Restaurant, Andiamo Restaurant and Bar, and Fantastic Sam’s Hair Salon and Barber Shop, CVS and Bank of America, according to a press release.

The release also says "the event will feature a time capsule dedication where each retailer will place items into the capsule including a David Ortiz 'Big Papi' koozie, a nail care kit and hand lotion, t-shirts, menus, bumper stickers, key tags and other fun branded items. Also included in the time capsule will be proclamations presented that day from the Congress, State Senate and House of Representatives. Past news coverage of the development from The Chelmsford Independent, The Boston Globe, The Lowell Sun, Chelmsford Patch and other media outlets will also be placed in along with that day’s daily newspapers. The capsule will be buried at a later date and unearthed 20 years later."
