How'd Chelmsford Spend The Sales Tax Holiday Weekend?

Did the two day relief from sales taxes pick up business in the area?

 

The two day sales tax weekend in Massachusetts is now is over, and we're looking to see what impact it had on folks here in Chelmsford.

This year's sales tax holiday passed through the Massachusetts House of Representatives by a margin of 153-1 on July 31 and was signed by the Governor on Aug. 7. as part of a bill designed to increase investment in infrastructure and other economic development job growh initiatives.

“A sales tax holiday will increase business activity and give temporary relief to families who have been hit be the economic downturn,” State Representative James Arciero (D-Westford).  “I hope this is an additional step in giving tax relief to Massachusetts families and helping our small businesses to survive the recession.”
