Local Yoga Studio Makes The Jump From Chelmsford To Westford

The difference between Westford and Chelmsford is only a few miles on the map, but for Becky Bronson, the variation marks a new chapter in her small business.

Bronson, the owner of , decided to move her business down the street earlier this month from Hawthorne Place in Chelmsford to its current location in Westford at 235 Littleton Road, diagonally across the street from .

This weekend was the new location open house for the studio, and Bronson is happy with new locale.

"In Chelmsford we were in a much bigger place, but it felt too big," said Bronson. "It was a beautiful building, it was a brand new building, but it was just too big for what I needed."

Although there's concerns that the move may potentially alienate some of her current clientele, some of her core customers such as Lysa Modica of Chlemsford think she's worth the drive.

"It's not that far from Chelmsford to Westford, that's number one. I think it takes me three extra minutes to get here," said Modica, who works in Westford and started yoga to help ease the pain that lingers from previous back surgeries. "Now that it's in Westford, I might try some of the lunchtime classes."

The location's also more convenient for Bronson, who's a Westford resident and can reduce her travel time with the new studio, although that doesn't appear to be the key benefit.

In Bronson's eyes, the new studio location provides a better atmosphere for type of yoga she teaches, better known as Svaroopa Yoga.

Compared to other brands of yoga, Bronson notes that Svaroopa is more geared toward relaxing the muscles, thus necessitating welcoming surroundings.

"In the end, each form of yoga gets you to the top of the mountain," she said."Svaroopa is just the winding scenic road instead of the steep cliff face."
