Nomination Papers for Town Election Available Today

Candidates can get papers for the election on April 3.

Nomination papers for the spring annual town election are available today, Town Clerk Onorina Maloney has announced.

In order to appear on the ballot for the election, which will be April 3, candidates for town-wide office must get 50 signatures from registered voters. Town Meeting Rep candidates must receive 25 signatures from the precinct they wish to represent.

Board of Selectmen members Pat Wojtas and George Dixon they will both run again for their seats. School Committee member Nick DeSilvio also announced he will run again for his seat.

Due to the town's redistricting, all Town Meeting Reps must run again for their seats. Maloney said there will be 18 seats per precinct up for grabs. Per the town charter, the first third in order of votes will serve for three years, the second third will serve for two years and the final third will serve for one year.

Papers must be returned by 5 p.m. on Feb. 14.
