Numerous Committee Seats Still Up For Grabs
Town Manager is still accepting applications for the Recycling Committee and Conservation Commission.

Town Manager Paul Cohen said there are still numerous vacancies on town committees up for grabs.
Positions are available on the Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee, Conservation Commission, Cultural Council, Energy Conservation Committee, Permanent Building Committee, the Sign Advisory Committee and Recycling Committee.
There are also positions available on the Chelmsford Redistricting Committee, which will explore redistricting the town for most efficient representation in the state legislature.

Cohen said he is still accepting applications because all of the applicants have been Republicans. No Democrats have applied, he said. Since the spirit of the committee is bipartisan, Cohen said, it makes sense committee members should be, too.
"To have (too many) from one party might send a misguided message," he said. "It may seem like there's a political agenda."

Cohen encouraged Democrats, unenrolled voters and more Republicans to apply for the committee. Selectmen will make final decisions as to who to appoint, Cohen said.
