Orange Leaf 'Coming Spoon' to Drum Hill Plaza

The self-serve frozen yogurt shop is set to open on June 1, according to an article in the Lowell Sun.

Self-serve frozen yogurt is one of the hottest (or coldest) business trends in the area. And soon, Chelmsford residents will have another option to get themselves a cold treat.

According to a report in the Lowell Sun, Orange Leaf Frozen Yogurt is slated to open its doors on June 1 with a grand opening in Drum Hill Plaza, across from the Wal-Mart plaza.

The new Orange Leaf location, there are 253 of the chain store across the nation currently and 130 coming soon according to the company's website, has had a sign in the window for the last several months that says "Coming Spoon."

James Alex and James Barberian are the franchisees of the incoming Chelmsford location, according to the Lowell Sun report.

"The proximity to Hannaford and Wal-Mart makes it a high-traffic area," said Alex according to the newspaper.

Alex also told the newspaper that the Chelmsford store is about 2,400 square feet and will employ about 22 employees, combining part-time and full-time workers.

Self-serve frozen yogurt shops have become especially popular in recent months and years. They provided customers with the opportunity to dispense their own soft serve flavors and add toppings before paying based on weight.
