8 weeks beginning March 5

Do you wish your family photographs looked more polished? Learn how to rid your pictures of dreaded “red eye”, “raccoon eyes”, distracting backgrounds, etc. Learn to love the “manual mode” of your camera, understand aperture, shutter speed, ISO,white balance, and most important, light. A basic understanding of your camera is required, as is a camera that can be set to manual modes (Manual, as well as Aperture-Priority and Shutter-Priority, which are sometimes called Aperture-Value and Time-Value) and can take photos without the built-in flash. This class is intended for advanced beginner to intermediate photographers. We will survey composition, lighting techniques and equipment, as well as the work of great portrait photographers. Assignments include experiments with lighting and portrait techniques that can be done with your camera and simple items that are available at hardware stores and software that is free on the internet. Instructor: Adrien Bisson.
