Question 4: What Does Your Vote Mean?

A brief primer on the fourth ballot question Chelmsford voters will decide on today.

 

While it is not a statewide measure, some areas in the Commonwealth, including Chelmsford, will have a ballot initiative on "corporate personhood" and money in politics.

The question, Question 4 in Chelmsford, asks an amendment to the U.S. Constution limiting campaign contributions as well as ensuring that corporations do not have the same rights as human beings.

A "Yes" vote requests either a state senator or state representative (state senator in regard to Chelmsford), advocate for the amendment to Congress.

The measure is non-binding.
