Question: Why does Town Meeting start at 7:30 p.m. instead of 7 p.m.? At Monday night's Town Meeting, hearing the reports of town committees took about an hour. It seems we might get a little more done if it started earlier.

Answer: Town Manager Paul Cohen told us the town starts Town Meeting at 7:30 p.m. because that's the customary time it has started. The start time of Town Meeting is not dictated in the town's charter or town bylaws.
