Selectmen Decide on Line Striping Policy

Scenic roads in town will not be striped, according to the policy.

In light of the incident, selectmen have approved a line-striping policy for the town that dictates which roads will and will not be striped. Here's a look at the details of the policy:

1. Roads that meet the MUTCD requirements and vehicular volume for paved rural roads will be striped.

2. All numbered routes, arterial and collector roads as identified by the state will be striped.

4. Other roads as identified by the Board of Selectmen, in consultation with the Department of Public Works, Town Manager, and public safety officials will be striped. Roads under consideration to be striped for the first time will be announced at a regular meeting of the Board of Selectmen at least one month prior to striping, so residents may provide additional input.
