Should Chelmsford Ban All Tobacco Sales?

One Massachusetts town is set to become first in state and nation to do so, should others follow?

On Oct. 1, CVS stores across the country stopped selling cigarettes and other tobacco products. The decision followed an announcement earlier in the year that the chain would take that action this fall.

Now a town in Central Massachusetts could become the first in the state and nation to ban all tobacco sales, the Boston Globe is reporting.

Westminster Massachusetts Board of Health officials made the plan public on Monday which would ban tobacco sales to everyone regardless of age within the town’s limits, angering local business owners and residents. The ban includes any product that contains tobacco or nicotine including cigarettes, chewing tobacco and electronic cigarettes.
