Van Liew Appeals District Court Decision

The former candidate for Selectman still has several pending cases against local figures.

 

While awaiting a final ruling on last week's , Van Liew has filed an appeal of last month's ruling against Planning Board member Colleen Stansfield.

In that ruling, Lowell District Court associate justice Laurence Pierce said that Van Liew "failed to show" that Stansfield's application for a harrassment-prevention order was "devoid of any reasonable factual support or arguable legal basis."

The lawsuit came forth earlier this year in response to Van Liew's allegations that Stansfield sought to harm his candidacy for the Board of Selectmen along with seeking a harrassment-prevention order to stifle his political speech.

In addition to these two cases, Van Liew also has a pending case in Lowell Superior Court
