What's Open, Closed on New Year's Day in Chelmsford

As you’re preparing to ring in the new year, we have put together a list of holiday hours and closings. Happy New Year!

Closing early on New Year’s Eve, Dec. 31, 2014:

• Town Offices will close early at noon on Dec. 31.
• Chelmsford Public Library will close at 1 p.m. on Dec. 31.

Closed on New Year’s Day, Jan. 1, 2015:

• Town offices: Closed
• Schools: Closed
• Library: Closed
• Post Office: Closed
• Restaurants: Open at owner’s discretion
• Retail stores: Open at owner’s discretion
• Supermarkets: Open at owner’s discretion
• Liquor stores: Open
• Banks: Closed
• Gas stations: Open
• Movie theaters: Open

There is no trash or recycling collection on New Year’s Day, and there will be a one-day delay the rest of the week, with Friday’s pickup happening Saturday.
