Vieau announces new chief HR officer; Chicopee City Council tables appointment until further scrutiny (thereminder.com) — Chicopee may soon have a new chief human resources officer, as Mayor John Vieau has appointed resident Bianca Janeczek to the role while the City Council delays its final vote for more scrutiny. Second Chance Community Pet Vaccine Clinic Slated for Sept. 11 in Chicopee (healthcarenews.com subscription) — Chicopee pet owners can now register for a low-cost Second Chance Animal Services vaccine clinic for cats and dogs on Friday, Sept. 11, at Teddy Bear Pools & Spas on East Street. The event offers free distemper/parvo shots, discounted rabies and leptospirosis vaccines, and $5 microchips, plus an on-site pet supply drive to support homeless animals and struggling local families.

3. 50 Chicopee senior apartments to receive free internet through state-funded program (wwlp.com) — Fifty senior apartments at Dom Narodowy Polski in downtown Chicopee are getting free high-speed internet, laptops, and digital skills training through a state-funded broadband retrofit program. With POAH covering service costs, residents will pay nothing for access, helping them connect to telehealth, education, and family while Chicopee benefits from a share of $74 million in statewide connectivity upgrades.
