• Shark-bitten seal washes up at Lucy Vincent (mvtimes.com) — A dead six-foot seal with what experts say was a fatal great white shark bite has washed up just east of the Lucy Vincent Beach entrance in Chilmark. Marine biologists believe the attack happened offshore some time ago, with the carcass drifting in. Residents who spot stranded or distressed marine mammals are urged to contact NOAA’s stranding hotline or local responders.
