CONCORD, MA—The construction of a new 15,000-square-foot market was recommended by the Concord Planning Board during its June 7 meeting, Planning Board Director Marcia Rasmussen confirmed with Patch.

Planning Board members voted 4-2 in favor of the new market planned at Millbrook Tarry, near Lowell and Keyes Roads, according to the Concord Journal's report. The recommendation was met with both support and opposition from residents, according to Rasmussen.

While the Town requires 276 parking spaces to be present at the site, the owner had previously been granted relief of 36 spaces. The proposed project also requests an additional relief of 44 space, taking the total relief to 80 parking spaces.

If approved and constructed, the market would join a Rite Aid, Trails End Cafe, Citizen's Bank and Irving Oil gas station on the site.
