A tired CC fencing team arrived at the High School at 7:15 this morning, loaded the bus and headed to Dana Hall School in Wellesley to fence Northampton, Bishop Feehan and Hopkins School from CT. Most of the team had only left the school at midnight after returning from the tournament in Huntington NY.
The first meet was against Northampton High School. On the Men’s team the Foil Squad was the standout squad wining all 9 matches. Sabre fencer Kevin Fan ’15 won the 14th match which won the meet. The final score was 17-10. On the Women’s Team the Foil Squad stood out winning 7 of 9 matches and Natalie Ma ’16 with the winning bout.
The second meet was against Bishop Feehan. The Men’s team started strong winning all three bouts in the first round. The 14th bout was won by new epee fencer Jeromy Wilson ’16. The final score was 15-12. The Women’s team was able to hold their own in Foil and Sabre, 9-9 between them but the Epee squad was outgunned going 2-7 for an 11-16 loss.

The Final meet was against Hopkins School from New Haven, CT. The Men’s Sabre team was able to go 6-3 but foil and epee struggled. The meet ended in an 11-16 loss. The Women’s Team struggled a bit in the first half of the meet but only lost one in the second half. The meet ended in a 15-12 win.
The Men’s Team is currently has 6 wins and 3 losses and the Women’s Team has 4 wins and 5 losses.

The team has a few days off from practice to study for exams. There will be a men’s JV meet against St John’s Prep on Thursday at 5 pm, a road trip to Hopkins School on Saturday and a 5 school meet on Sunday at CCHS in the lower Gym and the cafeteria starting at 9 am against BB&N, Beaver Country Day School, International School of Boston and Bishop Feehan. Spectators are welcome.
