50 Years Later, Concord Police Reunite Keys, Wallet With Owner
A search for a pistol in the Assabet River turned up some pretty cool history.

CONCORD, MA — A search for pistol uncovered some serious history. That history led to the reuniting of a man and his personal belongings 50 years in the making.
Concord Police called in the State Police Dive Team when a person's canoe capsized Thursday on the Assabet River. No injuries were reported to the person in the canoe, and the pistol was recovered and returned to the owner.
While searching for the gun, the dive team also found a wallet, which contained keys, a driver's license, and a military ID card. A Concord Police detective was able to track down Roy Carlson, the owner of the belongings, and returned them to him. Carlson said he lost his wallet and car keys in the 1970s, when his canoe also tipped over on that same river.
