Nine Concord Residents Elected as Emerson Hospital Corporators

Nine Concord residents are among 19 local residents who were recently elected to three-year terms as Corporators of Emerson Hospital. They are Jill Block, Pamela S. Callahan, Jane E. Coutré, Jen Kelt, J. Gregory Kinsman, Thomas W. McKean, Diane C. Nordin, Charity A. Tremblay and Henry W. Vaillant, MD.

“Emerson Hospital relies on its Corporators to be informed ambassadors for the hospital and to assist in Emerson’s outreach efforts in their communities,” said Ron Johnson, chairman of the Emerson Hospital Board of Directors. “Corporators are truly strategic partners of the organization. We are grateful that all of the Corporators will serve Emerson Hospital in this important way.”  

Corporators represent the interests of the 25 communities served by Emerson Hospital. They become knowledgeable about Emerson’s mission and the services it provides through regular breakfast briefings, annual meetings and other activities. In turn, they communicate information about the hospital’s programs and services to the residents and businesses in their communities. They also elect Emerson’s Board of Directors and Corporators at the annual meeting.

“While we rely on our Corporators to act as ambassadors for the hospital, we hope that members of our community also engage directly with them to connect to Emerson,” added Christine Schuster, president and CEO of Emerson.

Emerson Hospital’s newly elected Corporators are:

Karen K. Anderson (Acton) is a librarian at the Acton Memorial Library. She is currently on the Pastoral Care and Newcomers committees at the Church of the Good Shepherd, where she previously served as senior warden and a member of its Finance, Auction and Nominating committees. Anderson has also volunteered with the town schools.

Jill Block (Concord) is a self-employed public health consultant. She is currently coordinator of Healthy Concord, an assessment and planning project for the Town of Concord. Block also serves on the Board of Directors at Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts, where she is co-chair of the Education Advisory Committee and a member of the Strategic Planning and Executive Search committees.

Pamela S. Callahan (Concord) is a former institutional sales director with Deutsche Bank. She currently runs the Boston office for Zelman & Associates, a Cleveland-based firm focused on investment research. Callahan volunteers with the National Charity League, serves as the lead event manager of the PMC Concord Kids Ride, and is a trustee and board secretary at Nashoba Brooks School.

Eugene (Gene) J. Clerkin (Bedford) is senior vice president of commercial real estate lending at First Trade Union Bank. He is chair of the Bedford Community Preservation Committee, a Bedford Housing Authority commissioner and former president of the Bedford Housing Trust.

James F. Coleman (Maynard) is the founder of Power America Cleaning Systems and a consultant to Power Washer Sales based in Littleton. The town moderator of Maynard, he is a former vice chairman of Middlesex Bank. Coleman is an active member of St. Matthew’s Church in Acton and serves as a committee member at Deaconess Abundant Life Care Center of Concord.

Jane E. Coutré (Concord) is a retired high tech software engineer and health care IT consultant. She studied landscape design at Harvard’s Landscape Institute and is a self-employed landscape designer/organic land care professional. Coutré is an overseer and former board member/allocations co-chair of the Concord-Carlisle Community Chest. She is a board member of the Conantum Garden Club and a longtime member of Alcott Toastmasters.

Daniel W. Demmer (Bolton) was president and CFO of Endeca Technologies in Cambridge. He currently sits on the board of directors of multiple technology companies and advises entrepreneurs. Demmer volunteers with the school and sports programs in the Nashoba School District.

Sandra R. Durben (Stow) is the salon coordinator at Margo’s Hair Design in Acton. A past participant and volunteer at Emerson’s Run~Walk for Cancer, she has been an integral part of Margo’s fundraising events for the Bethke Cancer Center over the past 10 years.

Stephen P. Giulietti (Acton) is a first vice president-wealth management with Morgan Stanley Wealth Management in Boston. He has past experience fundraising for hospitals, including Brigham and Women’s and Connecticut Children’s Medical Center. Giulietti is currently a board member and a member of the development committee for The Discovery Museums of Acton.

Jonathan Glass, MD (Acton) is a retired professor of medicine and the Carroll W. Feist Professor of Cancer Research. He was the founder and director of the Feist-Weiller Cancer Center at Louisiana State University, as well as a director of the Louisiana Cancer and Lung Trust Fund, the Race for Research and the Louisiana Health Sciences Foundation. He has recently relocated to New England.

Jen Kelt (Concord) is a community volunteer who has supported Emerson’s Rays of Light and Oh Baby galas. She has volunteered extensively at local schools, as a trustee at the Nashoba Brooks School and president of the parents’ associations at the Middlesex School and Fenn School. She is currently serving on the Gala 2013 committee and volunteers at the Museum of Science and Boston Cares.

Amy E. Kinne (Littleton) is director of business development for Especially for Pets. She is a board member with the Middlesex West Chamber of Commerce and has served as chairperson of the road race and on the Awards Dinner Committee. She volunteers on the Fellowship Committee of St. Matthew’s Church in Acton.

J. Gregory Kinsman (Concord) is a chiropractor in Concord. He is a member of the Concord Country Club.

Lisa P. Krywucki (Groton) is a senior vice president and senior commercial credit officer with Fidelity Bank in Leominster. Krywucki, who grew up in Concord, is active in her community through participating in Grotonfest and the Fireman’s Muster, as well as attending the annual house tour to support the Groton School. She is active in Our Lady of Grace Parish.

Thomas W. McKean (Concord) is a private practicing attorney in Boston. He is president of the board at the Fay School in Southborough and a board member of Alternative Supports Inc. in Waltham.

Diane C. Nordin (Concord) spent 2012 as a fellow with Harvard University’s Advanced Leadership Initiative. Previously, she worked in the asset management business for more than 30 years, most recently as a partner and head of fixed income at Wellington Management Company. Nordin is a trustee of Wheaton College and the Appalachian Mountain Club. She is on the Foundation Board of the Massachusetts College of Art and Design and the Vineyard Nursing Association of Martha’s Vineyard.

Charity A. Tremblay (Concord) is retired from a career in the investment industry in Boston. She has also been a marketing consultant to small business. Tremblay is a board member of the New England Wild Flower Society and the Garden Club of Concord, and she is on the Fellowship Committee at the Trinitarian Church in Concord. She is currently writing fiction and is a decorative artist.

Henry W. Vaillant, MD (Concord) is a retired physician with Acton Medical Associates. A former Emerson Health Care Foundation board member, he is a past president of the medical staff and former chair of the Department of Medicine. He volunteers on the boards of the Concord-Carlisle Community Chest and White Mountain School.

Evan P. Welch (Littleton) is a financial planner, investment fiduciary and chief investment officer of Antaeus Wealth Advisors, LLC in Boxborough. As a volunteer, he is a trustee of special funds for the Concord Masonic Lodge, a money mentor for the Massachusetts State Treasury’s money conferences and a financial coach for patients of the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
