Artist Creates Team Hoyt Boston Marathon Piece to Raise Funds
Local artist Jason Boucher got to work within days following the Boston Marathon to create an original piece of art intent on capturing the spirit of the event

Local artist Jason Boucher got to work within days following the Boston Marathon to create an original piece of art intent on capturing the spirit of the event and the heroic efforts of those who were thrust into action following the Finish Line bombing.
Boucher has joined with Todd Civin of Civin Media Relations to organize a raffle of original art to raise funds for One Fund Boston which was set up to help the people most affected by the tragic events that occurred in Boston on April 15, 2013. Raffle tickets are available for $26.20 and are available at the Civin Media Relations website at www.civinmediarelations.com.
Boucher hoped to highlight the positive amongst the negative which shrouded the annual event by featuring Boston Marathon favorites, Dick and Rick Hoyt, carrying the American and Massachusetts state flag while acknowledging the police, firefighters, rescue, and military and medical personnel holding a sign stating YES WE CAN. The One Fund Boston logo completes the art with the beautiful Boston skyline completing the background.

“Too much attention has been focused on the negative surrounding the events,”explained Boucher who recently completed illustration on a children’s book called, Billy’s Bully, by Kenn Doane. “Though we will never be able to expunge the negativity of the day, I thought it was important to accentuate the positive which resulted from the bombing. What better way to create positive then with the Hoyts and the first-responders.”The project has been supported by Dick and Rick Hoyt who were stopped one mile from the finish line of what was their 31st Boston Marathon.
“We approve use of our images in Jason’s painting in order to raise funds for Boston OneFund -to support all the victims of the Boston Marathon bombings and their families,”added Hoyt.Boucher, the Hoyts, and Boston Marathon executive race director Dave McGillivray will each sign the painting prior to the completion of the raffle which will be drawn on Memorial Day. Boucher and Civin have also corresponded with the offices of Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick, Boston Mayor Thomas Menino and Boston Police Commissioner Edward Davis in hopes of getting their signatures as well.

“Jay Boucher is a gifted artist and I could think of no one better to create this very worthwhile project,” explained Civin. “We’re hoping the public supports this endeavor and we raise a lot of money for One Fund Boston.”
Those who purchase a chance at winning the artwork will also receive a 24” x 12” poster of the painting. The poster is also available for purchase for $14.95 on the Civin site. Second prize winner will receive signed copies of Civin Media Relations four books: One Letter at a Time by Rick Hoyt, Destined to Run by Wes Harding, Born an Angel by Briley Rossiter and Billy’s Bully by Kenn Doane. Third prize winner will receive their choice of any of the four books.
