Irene, Beware the Damage Unseen!

Now that Irene has come and gone many trees were damaged that may well appear to be just fine, make sure you check everything carefully!

Now that Concord is in cleanup mode after Irene's visit, it is important to note the many hazards remaining that may go unseen. Many branches in your large shade and coniferous trees (especially pines) may have been cracked by the storm and be just a light wind away from coming down. Also beware of "Hangers," these are the broken limbs and branches that remain up in the tree just "hanging" until another strong wind or gravity decides to dislodge them.

Make sure you check every large tree, especially the ones that might be over your home or outbuilding, over swing-sets and play areas, patios, porches, and driveways. If you cannot check for yourself or are not sure what to look for, write me a note. As a local Concord resident and Arborist, I would happy to walk the grounds with you to make sure you and your loved ones are safe!
