The "Open Mike" - A Different Sort of Musical Thing

If you have ever gone to an "Open Mike" you would find an interesting sub-group of the human community. It is a group of people who have to make a living somehow and build a family, but every other minute of their lives is spent in the pursuit of music and performance. Most of the people who grab the open microphone are folk singers but there are occasional poets and speakers of all sorts. Over the next few months I plan to shoot several "Open Mike" events in the Concord area. The video link below is from Rich Eilbert's Lincoln Open Mike Acoustic held monthly in the Lincoln Library's Tarbell Room.

Bruce Marshall hosts a lively night of Open Mike performances every Tuesday night at the  starting around 7:30pm. Kenny Selcer, hosts an Open Mike every other Sunday (check website for next show) at the , 7-10 p.m. And Rich Eilbert, hosts the Lincoln Open Mike Acoustic held monthly on Sundays (check website for next show) in the Lincoln Library's Tarbell Room, 7-10 p.m.
