Simchat Torah Celebration & Dancing with Yiddish dance leader Judy Bressler

Join Kerem Shalom for dinner, dancing, and revelry to celebrate Simchat Torah with Yiddish dance leader Judy Bressler. She’ll lead us in joyous processions (hakafot) accompanied by our Kerem Shalom Klezmer players.

Dinner begins at 6:15 pm followed by dancing at 7 pm. All ages welcome.

Judy is a founding member of Boston’s Klezmer Conservatory Band, heard on all 10 of their recordings, and has performed extensively across America and abroad. She is part of an ongoing 30+ years with Itzhak Perlman in The Fiddler’s House tours. Judy has taught Yiddish song and dance at Klezkamp, Klezkanade, Yiddish New York, the Boston Workers’ Circle, and for the New York Workers Circle. She is considered a leading interpreter and performer of Yiddish song in her generation. She is a seminal figure in the revival of interest in Yiddish language and culture that began in the 1980’s and continues today.
