Concord Honored For Municipal Social Media Use
The award honors municipalities who use creatives ways of connecting with residents.

CONCORD, MA —Concord wants residents to stay informed and updated any way they can and has made frequent use of its social media accounts. The town's efforts didn't go unrecognized — Concord was honored with a Pickard Municipal Innovation Award for its work using social media to increase citizen and voter participation.
The award recognizes municipalities that have developed unique and creative projects and programs to increase the effectiveness of local government. The award is named in honor of the late Kenneth Pickard, who was the first executive secretary of the Massachusetts League of Cities and Towns.
Concord not only has a website where residents can sign up for town alerts and messages, but its active on all of its social media accounts. Concord has an Instagram, Twitter and Facebook page where additional alerts are posted and community photos are shared.
