Dog Restrictions Mulled in Concord: Report
A commission is looking into dog restrictions on some town-owned conservation lands.

CONCORD, MA – A commission is looking into possible dog restrictions on conservation land owned by the Town of Concord, according to a Concord Journal report. The Concord Natural Resources Commission held a public meeting last week to inform residents of the restrictions under consideration.
These include walking dogs on leashes no greater than six feet and a maximum of two dogs per person. The proposed restrictions would apply to lands such as Punkatasset, Monument Farm, Madison Field, White Pond and agricultural space that are most impacted by dogs off-leash, the Journal reported.
The commission cited negative environmental impacts from dog waste, wildlife concerns and dogs scaring people, horses and other dogs as the reasoning behind potential restrictions. Some residents at the meeting opposed potential restrictions and called for a greater look into the scope of the problem.
