Armagh Coffee House with Tim McHale

Holy Family Parish in Concord, MA is happy to announce an evening of musical entertainment, which will take place on Saturday, November 3, 7:30 PM at the Armagh Coffee House at Monument Hall, 62 Monument Square, Concord.

Performing will be Tim McHale, founder and artistic director of the Boston Minstrel Company. Founded more than twenty years, the Minstrel Company is comprised of over 100 adult members who share their love and gift of music with men and women in prisons and shelters throughout Eastern Massachusetts. Their gifts of song and laughter have lifted the spirits of countless men and women over the years.  During the course of the coffee house, McHale will speak of his work and invite audience members to participate actively in the singing.

In Tim’s own words regarding the programs the Minstrels run in shelters and prisons: “The participatory nature of these songfests brings out awareness, joy, self esteem and connection to those in need. Music has an ability to heal and its time honored influence is a gift that keeps beating.”

This is part of an ongoing series within our Faith Formation program called “Whatsoever You Do To The Least” wherein adults and older youth are invited to reflect on Jesus’ message in Matthew 25 to serve the least among us. The hope of this series is to help parishioners explore ways that they can actively live out being a disciple in serving those most in need. This is not so much a concert as the kind of event that adults and children can thoroughly enjoy even as they learn about a very creative social ministry.

Coffee House admission for this event is free but donations to support the work of Tim and the Boston Minstrel Company will be gratefully accepted.  For more information, contact the parish at 978-369-7442.
