Recorders/Early Music MetroWest hosts the first "Choral Morning" of its 2012-2013 season on Saturday, September 8 beginning at 9:30 AM at Trinity Episcopal Church, 81 Elm Street in Concord. R/EMM's "Choral Mornings" offer a focussed study of works of a specific Renaissance composer or repertoire led by one of the area's excellent choral early music specialists.
Leading the September 8 program, centered on music of the Renaissance's best-known teacher and student pair -- Thomas Tallis and his student William Byrd -- will be Sarah Mead, director of early music ensembles at Brandeis University.
Sarah is a popular teacher and workshop leader in the field of early music. She served as program director for several years at Pinewoods Early Music Week and now is director of the Viola da Gamba Society's annual Conclave. An outstanding viol player herself, she is artist-in-residence at Brandeis University in Waltham.
