The theme for this year’s Concord Orchestra Pops, conducted by Richard Pittman, is “Vive la France!” New York Jazz vocalist Marlene VerPlanck will perform Gershwin songs arranged by her late husband, Billy VerPlanck. Principal cellist David Paschke will perform Popper’s Hungarian Rhapsody. The orchestra will continue with Gershwin’s American in Paris, Ravel’s Pavane pour une infante défunte, and light classics by French composers. As always, there will be table seating with refreshments and cash bar. The Sunday performance is a 2 pm matinee.
