David Thorp Memorial Lecture

Holy Family Parish in Concord, MA is pleased to present Reverend Frank DeSiano, CSP in a memorial lecture on Friday March 15 at 7:30 PM in Holy Family/Saint Bernard’s Church in Concord Center [12 Monument Square].  The lecture is in memory of David Thorp who served Holy Family parish for slightly less than a year as its first Director of Faith Formation. His untimely death two years ago touched the hearts of thousands of people locally, not only in Holy Family parish, but also throughout the Archdiocese of Boston where David labored for more thirty years in many capacities. When he died, David was the Director of the archdiocese’s Catholics Come Home Evangelization program. The ongoing success of this initiative can largely be attributed to David’s deep faith, compelling witness and extraordinary organizational skills. We are honored that David’s widow, Barbara, as well as some family members and archdiocesan colleagues will be joining us for this tribute and memorial.

The speaker, Reverend Frank Desiderio is currently the Director of the Paulist Center in downtown Boston. He is a member of the Paulist Fathers and for ten years served as President of Paulist Productions. He has executive produced over 25 hours of television including the movie Judas which aired on ABC Television and the award-winning documentary, The Big Question: A Film about Forgiveness. His work on The Big Question launched his ministry of forgiveness and reconciliation. The film will be shown as part of this evening presentation followed by questions and discussion with Father Desiderio.

Originally from Washington, D.C., Frank graduated from the University of Maryland with a degree in English Literature in 1976. He earned a Master of Arts degree in Communications Management from the USC Annenberg School for Communication and also holds a Master’s degree in Theology from the Catholic University of America.
