On Friday, April 6 at 12 noon, Trinity Episcopal Church offers a special Good Friday Liturgy when we contemplate the “What if” and focus our attention on the importance of the Cross, hear the Passion story chanted by members of Trinity's Parish Choir, read a Litany and venerate the Cross, and then receive the Sacrament reserved from the Maundy Thursday watch.
Following this service, Trinity's main sanctuary will be open from 1:15-3 PM for meditation on the Seven Last Words of Christ on the Cross, with short homilies on each word. In the Gospels of Mark and Matthew, Jesus cries out to God. In Luke, Jesus forgives his killers, reassures the good thief, and commends his spirit to the Father. In John, Jesus speaks to his mother, says he thirsts, and declares the end of his earthly life. Meditations and silent prayer offered by members of Trinity's parish. Shay Rudolph will play works for solo cello between readings and meditation.
This service is open to all in the community. Trinity is fully handicap accessible.
