have your caricature done via Skype by professional artist

Come to Dabblers hobbies+café on Saturday afternoon, July 14 between 1pm and 3pm to have your caricature done via Skype by professional artist, Gene Hamm.  

The "HammCam" idea makes use of today's video chatting technology and allows the subject to watch as Gene creates their drawing in his studio in California. 

Gene Hamm, creator of HammCam Caricatures says, "As a caricature artist, I have seen for many years that the subject of the drawing has to wait till the end to see their comic sketch.  

With today's technology of a digital drawing tablet and paint program, subjects can now see the cartoon unfold, from beginning to end, even when they are thousands of miles away from me.

"Dabblers will set up a Caricature location in the store with a laptop linked to Gene's studio. Artist, subject and on-lookers can view the caricatures come to life on the monitor.  

With the live video format, customers will be able to chat with Gene while he creates their unique caricature.  To reserve your caricature sitting time during the 1to 3pm time period, call or visit the store (978-254-5798).

Finished drawings will be emailed to the Dabblers and ready for pick-up anytime on Sunday, July 15. This event is FREE to all Dabblers customers.

About Gene: HammAnimator Gene Hamm has worked in Hollywood and Silicon Valley on such projects as Lord Of The Rings, Smurfs and Superfriends and Gumby.  Gene has over 30 years experience teaching cartooning and drawing caricatures for folks who enjoy his jokes and stories about working in Hollywood. He is presently an animation instructor at Academy of Art University in San Francisco.  

Gene also makes time to work with "differently abled" adults creating animations and special effects films, and is currently creating a documentary, called Created Equal about the art and artists of these talented individuals at their Art Without Labels Gallery in Petaluma, CA About Dabblers hobbies+caféDabblers hobbies+café is a retail store filled with an extensive selection of hobbies and craft supplies.
