Center for Parents and Teachers presentation in collaboration with the CCHS Parents Association: Dr. Scott Lukas, professor of Psychiatry and Pharmacology at Harvard Medical School and Director of the Behavioral Psychopharmacology Research Laboratory at McLean Hospital will offer information on keeping adolescents healthy and safe from the effects of substance use and abuse.
Dr. Lukas weaves practical application in with cutting edge research. He will present new findings on how alcohol, tobacco and drugs significantly affect the developing adolescent brain, the red flags that signal substance use and abuse, ways to guide adolescents to stay clear of these substances and will also take audience questions.
The presentation will take place at Concord Carisle High School, 500 Walden Street, in the library. It is free and open to all.
