Fire Engine May Have Caused Blaze at Concord Firehouse

Reports say a preliminary investigation has yielded that the fire started in Engine 4.

CONCORD, MA – A blaze that erupted inside of a Concord firehouse overnight may have started in the unlikeliest of places – one of the station's fire engines.

Concord Fire Captain William Noke told the Boston Globe a preliminary investigation has indicated that the fire started in Engine 4 and multiple reports Wednesday showed the vehicle being removed from the scene for inspection.

Replacing the engine, which was destroyed in the fire, could cost $600,000, the Globe reported.
