LETTER: Supporting Snook and Boynton for School Committee

Nashoba Road residents Tim and Maureen Dibble write that a vote for Johanna Boynton and Kathi Snook would 'send a strong signal that the electorate chooses to move forward in a positive way.'

To the Editor,

We are enthusiastically supporting the candidacies of Johanna Boynton and Kathi Snook for School Committee. Please join us on March 19.

Johanna and Kathi have strong backgrounds in education having both been teachers. In addition, they bring years of management experience and talent to the position. Most importantly, they are women of great character with strong leadership skills and measured personalities. In assessing their own run for School Committee, Johanna and Kathi have been very thorough, analytical and thoughtful in their review of the facts. It is this thoughtful and measured approach that will best serve all of the voters and constituents of Concord. Reasoned, thoughtful, respectful, experienced and analytical thinking is what we need in elected officials and it is what Kathi and Johanna bring to the task at hand.

Johanna and Kathi have a deep history and desire to serve our community in the most positive ways. They are strong and consistent supporters of the high school project. They have the knowledge and the experience to aid in creating the best teaching and learning environments for our students. Equally importantly, they understand their role as fiduciaries not only of our most precious resource (our children) but the need to balance all constituencies including fiscal realities in an age of uncertainty.

A vote for Johanna and Kathi will send a strong signal that the electorate chooses to move forward in a positive way to encourage civility on our School Committee, to maintain our school system as one of the crown jewels of the Commonwealth, and to keep the focus on student learning.

These strengths of Johanna and Kathi are the qualities we seek, and frankly require, in our School Committee members. We are fortunate to have such strong, composed, experienced and competent people willing to represent us.
