Lot Closing As Rideout Park Construction Kicks Off

Here's what's going on in that project.

CONCORD, MA — Some of that Rideout Park construction is starting. See below for more information from the Town:

Contractor RAE Construction has scheduled the start of construction for Rideout Park. The existing parking lot located along Laws Brook Road will be closed as it will be removed and replaced with new park lawns and landscaping. Simultaneously a new parking lot will be established at the vacant lot located to the east of the basketball court. A new sidewalk and curbing will be installed along Laws Brook Road, creating the need for pedestrian traffic to temporarily use the opposite side walkway. The existing outfield fencing will be removed and a new curved outfield fence will be installed causing the closure of Little League field closest to Laws Brook Road. Other portions of the park will remain available including basketball courts, tennis courts, playground with limited parking available at the Conant Street lot. Portions of the park may be temporarily closed off if safety concerns arise. Tree removal and demolition is scheduled to begin mid-week with a completion date in the first week in August. Paving is scheduled for the weeks of August 3rd to August 28th. The entire project is projected to be complete by the first week in October. For more information and to view the design plans, please visit the Town’s website at www.concordma.gov or contact Ryan Kane, Recreation Director at the Recreation Department at 978-287-1050.
