More Concord streetlights going dark

In a cost and energy saving program, the town is shutting off streetlights, although residents can adopt a light and pay for its operation

Town Manager Chris Whelan told the selectmen at a May 24 meeting that the town is almost one-third of the way through the program to turn off various street lights to save energy. He estimated the savings so far at $35,000 from the $85,000 budget figure. Whelan said four residents had responded to the "adopt a streetlight" program.
