Patriots And Mother Nature Beat Down On Westford Academy
The Grey Ghosts faced an onslaught of rain and Patriots in Dual County League play.

Massachusetts has a long history of weather themed professional football contests ranging from the Snow Bowl to Snow Plow Bowl.
While it was only a high school contest in Concord on Friday night, one could add 's showdown against to that list as the "Deluge Bowl" in reference the night's weather conditions, as well as the downpour of touchdowns scored on the visiting Grey Ghosts by the Patriots for a final score of 61-14.
Heavy rain earlier in the day required the game to be played on Concord-Carlisle's practice field behind the school, but conditions during the game were not much better for the most part, with several more inches of rain and a 30-minute thunder delay doing its part to make a mark on the contest.

Perhaps then it was no surprise that Concord-Carlisle's Tyquan Culbreath was able to easily slip through the Grey Ghosts' defense, putting up two quick scores to draw first blood in the contest.
The Patriots would add another touchdown on a pick six from Tyler Koning, but Westford Academy would answer, as Justin Mount atoned for his interception to Koning with a take away of his own on the other side of the ball, eventually leading to an Alex Eaton score.

Mount would get into the end zone himself shortly thereafter to get within seven points, but that would be as close as it would get, as Culbreath had his way with the Westford defense once again, adding another two quick touchdowns before the half.
From there on, the rain intensified as the contest slowly became more one sided than it already was.
Apparently neither coach thought the weather was a significant factor, although Westford Academy head coach Rich McKenna's thoughts on the game were limited to three words, "We got killed."
Eaton led all rushers with 110 yards, Culbreath was right behind him with 108, a total coming from 20 few attempts.
"We're really proud of all the backs, because of the way they practice and push each other during the week," said Concord-Carlisle head coach Michael Robichaud. "[Culbreath's] a special kid, he really works hard and is very quiet. He's really improved this year, so it's really nice to see him get the ball, because he just makes unbelieveable plays."
Westford Academy (3-3) returns home this Friday for a homecoming night matchup against Wayland, while Concord-Carlisle (6-0) will seek to continue their momentum against Acton-Boxborough.
