Sports Week in Review, April 2 - April 8

This week, Patch previewed several sports teams, as they get ready to kick off the upcoming spring season.

On Sunday, we looked at the Patriots’ boys’ tennis team, which enters this season with . Last year, C-C, rarely unfamiliar with success, was bounced from the MIAA North Division 1 tournament by Lexington in the sectional final.

The Patriots had won the past two state championships before losing to the Minutemen in 2010, and will look to reform to those winning ways this year.

Also this week, Patch gave an up-close look at the C-C softball team, fresh off an overwhelmingly successful first season as a member of D-1. In 2010, the Patriots tore through the regular-season and North D-1 sectional tournaments, before falling to King Philip Regional in the state semis.

Now, a retooled lineup, thanks to graduation and injuries, is ready to start anew and prove once again that C-C belongs in the top tier of softball in the state.
