Sports Week in Review, Feb. 12 - Feb. 18

The winter season is coming down to the wire for the C-C athletic teams.

The winter high school athletic season is beginning to wind down for Concord-Carlisle High School teams. Some are prepping for postseason play, while others are getting ready to finish off the season.

Last Friday night, the Concord-Carlisle girls’ basketball team played its and honored its six seniors. Despite a close game throughout the contest, the Patriots fell to visiting Tyngsboro 60-53.

On Saturday, the C-C 2-1 in a close matchup against Tewksbury High School. Visiting Tewksburty – the game was played in Bedford – tied the game in second period and pushed across the go-ahead goal I the third.

On Tuesday, the Patriots’ boys’ basketball team, having already locked up a spot in the postseason, took on DCL champion Wayland High School. C-C avenged a loss from earlier in the season to beat the Warriors 58-50. Three points separated the teams with just less than 2 minutes to go, but the Patriots hung on for the win.

The C-C boys’ and girls’ at the MIAA State Meet on Wednesday. The Patriot boys’ placed fourth in the field, while the girls’ were fifth.
