Sports Week in Review, Feb. 25 - Mar. 4

Several athletic teams began, and, unfortunately, quickly ended their run in MIAA sectional and state tournaments this week.

The Patriot teams first learned their postseason fates when the MIAA released and pairings last Friday and Saturday, respectively.

On Tuesday, the C-C hockey was the first to get going in the North Division 2 sectional. However, the Patriots, who , couldn’t keep up with a more physical Beverly squad, and bowed out in the tournament’s First Round.

On Wednesday, the Patriots had two teams in action – girls’ hockey and boys’ basketball.

In the girls’ hockey Division 2 state tournament, the girls’ hockey team took down Mt. St. Joseph of Boston in the First Round. The Patriots move on to play Sunday against Ursuline in the quarterfinals in Foxboro.

Later Wednesday, the C-C boys’ basketball team took on Brighton High School at Boston Latin Academy in the North Division 2 First Round. After staging a thrilling comeback, the Patriots couldn’t hold off the Bengals and was .
