C-C girls' hockey team closes out the winter, while Patch selects its Players of the Season

It’s that time of the year. High school athletics are between seasons – the winter recently finished up, while the spring season is just around the corner for Concord-Carlisle High School athletic teams.

It took the Patriots girls’ hockey team a bit longer than most to give up the winter. As the No. 11 seed this year, C-C made it farther than any team in the program’s six-year history when it played in the MIAA Division 2 state tournament’s semifinals.

But that’s where . They fell last Sunday to a talented Duxbury squad, 4-0. The Dragons will play for the D-2 state title this weekend at TD Garden in Boston.

With the change of seasons, it was also time for Patch to . We selected one boy, well in this case four boys, and a girl whose performances especially stuck out this year.

On the boys’ side, we picked the indoor track and field’s 4x400 relay team of David Blaides, Jibrail Coy, Teddy Pioli and Nathan Feshbach-Meriney. They placed sixth at the New England Championships.

We went back to the girls’ hockey team by selecting Jenny Robinson. The forward was near the top of the charts in scoring for all of D-2 in leading the Patriots into the postseason.
