Sports Week in Review: May 21 - 27

The rain finally subsided the sun came, for what all hope is for good, this week, allowing the athletic teams and other area squads get back on the fields and courts around town.

Last Saturday, the C-C boys’ lacrosse team tried to keep its strong season going, but ran into a plucky Newton North team. , as the host Tigers pulled out a close-fought 3-2 victory in overtime.

On Wednesday, Patch took a for Concord Youth Baseball/Softball teams. And, though, Mother Nature took care of most of the schedule with her rain, a few games were still able to be played by teams in town.

The tough week for C-C teams continued on Thursday afternoon, when the Patriots’ boys’ tennis team lost to St. John’s Prep in a matchup of in the upcoming postseason. St. John’s won convincingly 4-1.
